WHAT HANS LAAGLAND PAINTS

It does not matter what the painter paints, but how he paints it.

A portrait must be painted entirely from life. When the model is inanimate, then the portrait becomes a still life.
When the painter uses photographs as an aid the painting deteriorates.

Hans Laagland had been painting still lifes with fruit in a passionate way
for more than twenty years when he painted his first floral painting in 2006.
Still lifes with fruit are closest to his heart.
Fruits for him are like nudes, produced in gardens
Right from his very first floral painting, he tried to interpret them
and approach them practically like still lifes with fruit.
